Visits

Convento de Cristo offers a diverse set of guided tours, covering different themes.
A monumental complex of this extent allows the enjoyment, from the Castle to the Aqueduto do Convento, of exceptional reasons of interest, which is why we present a set of possible visiting routes, according to the interests and age group of the various types of public.

A special visit is also available for people with reduced mobility and there are two places with fixed multimedia stations. These equipments have audio content for the visually impaired.
It is still possible to enjoy the Convent of Christ from other angles. Artistic shows, gastronomic events or lively visits are examples of the activities that this Monument can host.
In this perspective, the Convent of Christ is prepared to host cultural activities as diverse as Medieval and Renaissance dinners, receptions, conferences, music or poetry recitals, theater performances, book launches, plastic arts exhibitions and solemn acts.
The Convent of Christ has hosted, over the years, several theatrical productions. Its diversity of spaces, from an aesthetic and dimensional point of view, allows the scenic invocation of historical periods, transforming it into an authentic “natural setting”. A full example of this potential are shows such as “O Nome da Rosa”, performed by Grupo Fatias de Cá, “O Auto da Alma”, a musical and theatrical show, produced by Associação Canto Firme, among others.
Other activities of a commercial nature, social meals, shows, exhibitions, promotional events and the like, will be analyzed on a case-by-case basis, according to the availability of the agenda.
